One of the joys of being a senior copywriter is working with junior writers or talented marketing minds to develop great final edits. I included these pieces because they reflect an important part of my skillset: taking rough ideas/content and clarifying the strategy behind it—who it’s for, why they care, and what we want them to do next—and crafting that messaging using the appropriate brand voice/tone (in this case from guidelines I was responsible for creating). And, of course, making sure the copy is tight, clean, and clear.
My goal is to provide any writer with the tools they need to create content that is easily approved. At Looker, those tools are being created as we go along, meaning that pieces like these required heavy editing and re-writes, which I performed in collaboration with the writers and stakeholders with the belief that sharing process transparently leads to better product.
